My allergies can get pretty bad sometimes, but they’re never so bad as to require a Nori Nasal Passage Cleaner. The pictures of the woman and boy using the device on the following pages are priceless.
This morning, I noticed a mobile police unit parked in my neighborhood on Capital Hill. I had never seen it there before, leading me to believe that they’re just getting ready for today’s WTO anniversary. Last year, many of the protestors ended up retreating to this neighborhood, and I’m willing to bet there will be increased activity tonight as well. Already, nine Starbucks coffee shops have been vandalized, likely the work of a handful of hoodlums. Let’s hope we don’t see more of this tonight.
It’s interesting to note that people who complain about traffic while on the freeway never seem to realize that they’re part of traffic too. That’s why this article in today’s Onion seemed especially poignant to me.
Can’t decide who should win the election? You could flip this coin being made by the Washington Mint which has Bush on one side and Gore on the other. (link courtesy of Hex)
Seattle Police are getting ready for this Thursday, which represents the one-year anniversary of the riots sparked by the WTO meeting. Personally, I think this event has the potential to be even worse than last year, because people aren’t coming to protest against anything, merely protesting for protest’s sake. You can be sure I’ll be going home early that day.
Robert X. Cringley’s column this week entitled The New New Bill Gates makes for an interesting read about the man, the myth, and the legend of Bill Gates.
Today, Hong and I ventured out into to drear and rain into North Seattle to visit the Twin Teepees Restaurant. Unfortunately, when we got there we learned that a fire had closed the restaurant. This photo was the only trophy to be had from the journey. We ended up going to the Sichanese restaurant again.
I sure did eat a lot of Chinese food this weekend. That seems to happen every time my girlfriend comes to town. She took a red-eye flight out tonight so she could be here as long as possible and still show up for work in the morning. It’s a rough situation, but we’re managing OK so far.
